THE SARAGO PROBE

The SARAGO undulating vehicle (Fig.3) was designed and developped at ISMES [5],[6]. The full description of the system can be found in []. SARAGO can measure a large number of physical parameters, among them salinity, temperature, density, dissolved oxygen, PAR, biomass and photosynthetic efficiency. Additional payloads can be inserted on-demand. The planned runlines are controlled by high accuracy Pressure Sensor and Inclinometers and by a Sonar, that acts also as bottom proximity alert. A brief description can be found in Tab.3.
