DATA MANAGEMENT

The SARAGO dataset (tables with position, date, time, salinity and temperature) were re-organized in a SQL Database (MySQL [13]), in order to arrange the data on line name, time frames and geographical region and get maximum spatial coherency and sinopticity. Interface routines to the database were developed in PERL and C languages. Even though not fully developed into this work, additional interfaces to databases elsewhere developed in the framework of the PRISMA 2 Project will be able to provide useful ancillary data such as water levels for tidal analysis and oceanographical and biogeochemical properties of the water column.
