- 2004-03-31 Arrival in Punta Arenas of Italian Team from Bologna and Parma and SHOA.

- 2004-04-03 Departure 11:15 local time, heading S. Start of operation (SVP) 14:10 before entering the Magellan Strait, 16:58 start recording Multibeam and SBP
- 2004-04-04 Start of operations out of Magellan Strait, sea state 3-4, direction NE-SW from base of accretionary prism to shelf. 1CTD cast and 4 XBT launches and start Multibeam postprocessing
- 2004-04-05 First DEM of Magellan Strait from 8111 data. Switch to N-S routes, 3 XBT launches, 1 CTD. Late afternoon stop mapping due to bad weather forecast, and ship heads to the Strait.
- 2004-04-06 At 00:12 local time, at the Strait entrance, a full electrical black-out brings the main engine to stop. Ship starts to drift toward the I.Desolacion. After several hours of emergency, with the assistance of two ships, at 05:30 main engine is switched on and ship moves immediately W to leave shoals. After release of anchors, ships gains the Strait round 12:00 and heads to Punta Arenas. Restart of Multibeam and SBP acquisition. Figures 18,19 and 20 show data during the event.
