ROCK SAMPLING

The sea bottom samples were collected with dredges served by a 14mm diameter cable. The sample locations are shown in Figg.5 and locations are presented in Tab..

After dredge recovery, samples underwent several analytical steps. Among them:

1. description and measure(dimensions, raw composition and shape),
2. basalt glass recovery,
3. cutting,
4. microscope description (phenocrystal composition, groundmass, texture analysis),
5. sub-sampling and
6. thin sections on selected subsamples.
